17 Months

Just yesterday I told a few more people about our daughter, and was introducing her picture saying she is 16 months old.  Last night I realized that as of today she is already 17 months old!!  Happy 17 months Ai Li!

It is hard to think about my baby girl growing up without me.  She’s really not a baby, but I still think of her as one.  I really hope and pray we can bring her home well before her 2nd birthday in November.

There are two little kiddos at church born within a week of Ai Li.  I saw one of them yesterday.  She looked so big in her mommy’s arms.  She was signing and talking a little in order to get another cookie off the snack table.  It’s good to see her and get an idea of what Ai Li is likely doing at this age.

We did one little thing this weekend in order to prepare for her arrival.  There is an ugly old plywood shelf in the kids’ room that holds all of our photo albums.  I’ve been wanting to move it into our master bedroom to make room for Ai Li’s crib, but don’t want the ugly shelf in our room either.  We took most of the day on Saturday to go to Ikea and purchase a bookshelf for our bedroom.  We weren’t real confident in it at first, but now that it’s set up, we like it.  It’s great to have a little more storage space in our room and will be nice to get rid of the ugly shelf and have more room in Koen and Ai Li’s room.

I catch myself being drawn to every baby within a 30 foot radius and wondering about our little one out there somewhere. Right now I’ll just have to live vicariously through you! Have fun getting the room ready!
