God blessed us with a lovely day of sunshine today and we had nothing planned, so we were able to head off to a park.  Koen rode his trike the whole way there and back and I carried Liliana in the Ergo on the way there.  She walked all the way back holding my hand and I knew I had two worn out kids by the time we got home.  The highlight of the experience for Koen was learning to swing on his tummy.  He giggled for a couple minutes straight as he run forward and swung backwards over and over.

Liliana has her 100th cold since coming home.  Yes, that’s an exaggeration, but not by much.  Her nose is runny again and she coughs a lot at night.  What that means for us is more times getting up to comfort her when she wakes herself up.  That also means Koen doesn’t get as good a night’s rest either since her noises stir him.

Koen has been going to the Awana program at our church since we got back from China.  In the last 4 months he has learned about 16 verses and is really beginning to understand the Gospel.  They sent him home with a little paper “Bible” with 5 different colored pages each with a verse representing part of the Gospel.  He brought it to me and excitedly told me what each page represented: sin, Christ’s blood on the cross, forgiveness, growing, and eternal life.  I’m so proud of him (hence me sharing this with you).

Li Li was throwing a tantrum before we left for the park because she wanted to ride a bike too (she doesn't know how yet), but Koen patiently went over, heald her hand and led in the direction I wanted her to go. He's often very sweet with her.

Lovin' the new way to swing!

This is Liliana after nap today - nose running, hair messy, but happy! Thankfully, this girl pretty much always wakes up happy!

It was exciting to read that Koen was able to retell our lesson via his craft! I love working with the pre-schoolers, but it is even more rewarding to know they are learning! Way to go Koen!
