For Halloween this year, I found a skunk costume at the thrift store and Koen got excited to have it. It was easy to make my kiddos happy with this $2.50 find and he was an adorable skunk. On the rear of his costume it said “Lil Stinker,” which is exactly what he is. He continues his stinky theme, as last year he was a proud stink bug!
I had a harder time coming up with something for Li Li. I tried to come up with something that went with the skunk, but all she really wanted to be was a bunny. I tried to convince her to be Angelina Ballerina, a panda, a fish…. But a “bunny rabbit” it was.
The kids enjoyed carving their pumpkins and we even let Koen do a bit of the carving himself. Here’s the action and the product:
We went to a harvest festival at the YMCA, where Li Li got her face painted for the first time. She’s proud:
And we continued our tradition by trick-or-treating at the same spot we always do.
