Getting to Serve Orphans

I am very excited about a new volunteer role I have.  I am the General Surgery Coordinator for Love Without Boundaries. It sounds like a lofty title that I had to train for years for and still owe on school loans, but really it is pretty simple and I’m loving getting to know some little cuties from a distance.  My area is the Preemie/ENT kiddos, and right now I have about 6 little ones who I follow.  Most of my job is filing information and photos, and keeping sponsors updated.  It’s a 6-10 hour a week position, and I’ve been putting in more than that amount as I figure things out, but it should get easier.  I’m totally loving it so far.

Here are some of the Chinese cuties I get to help:

This is Marshal, 14 months old. He recently had cataract surgery. Isn't he sooo cute in his new glasses?!

Sweet Brandon is almost 4 and will have surgery on his eyelids very soon.

This is Caroline, who is almost 3 and waiting for cataract surgery.

This is tiny Peter, who just entered Love Without Boundaries' care. At 3 months he weighs only 5.5 lbs.

Love Without Boundaries is an amazing organization that helps orphans in China, especially those with special needs.   They have several healing homes and staff in China who care for these little ones.  They arrange all their medical care, which is paid for by sponsors from around the world.  They also have nutrition, education, orphanage assistance, and foster care programs.

Tiny Peter’s medical bills have been high as he was hospitalized for almost a month.  But, we praise God that He brought him to LWB where he is getting the life saving care and nutrition he desperately needs.  If you would like to help sponsor Peter’s care, follow this link to LWB’s sponsorship page and click on Peter.
