Another Li Li Needs Our Help

Through my volunteer work with Love Without Boundaries, the Lord introduced me to a women in need.  Her name is Song Li Li.  She lives in central China with her husband and young son.  Her son, Tong, had heart surgery through LWB a year ago.  He was very sick and when his desperate parents brought him to the hospital, the hospital contacted LWB saying this was the poorest family they’d ever seen.  The family lives on plain rolls and pickles for every meal, every day.

LWB quickly found sponsors for sweet Tong’s surgery and he is doing well now.  However, his Mama has a similar heart condition, VSD.  This condition is usually repaired during infancy.  Song Li Li has lived her 31 years with this debilitating defect that causes her to be short of breath, tire easily and have pale or even bluish skin.  You can tell in her photos that she is obviously unhealthy.

Over the past year since Tong’s surgery the Lord has not let me forget about this women a world away.  I am now trying to raise the $3200 needed for her life-changing surgery.  A dear friend had designed a beautiful red heart decal that we will gift to anyone who donates $30 or more towards Song Li Li’s surgery.  These decals can be easily ironed onto clothing.  We hope that this surgery will give her a chance at a healthy life and that she will then be able to work and help pull her family out of poverty.  Her sweet son should have a healthy Mama that will be there to raise him to adulthood.

This is the decal made of sparkly red rhinestones. It measures 5.5 x 5.5 inches and looks great on a black shirt.

If you would like to donate toward Song Li Li’s heart surgery, please comment on this post.  You can give online through LWB here, select “Medical Program” and include a note that it is for Song Li Li in the special notes section.  I will keep you updated on her progress, and you will receive a tax deductible receipt.  Be sure to leave your email when you give and I will contact you about sending you the heart decal.
